Internship Program (Teaching, Nursing)
Student Teaching Practicum Program
The overseas student teaching practicum program consists of a 4-week ESL English course at a university-affiliated training center and a 4-week student teaching practicum at affiliated middle and high schools.
Initially, the 4-week ESL program includes 4 hours of one-on-one classes and 2 hours of group classes daily with Filipino English instructors. The curriculum not only focuses on improving basic English skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing but also offers TESOL practice-oriented English classes taught by certified instructors to provide practical assistance for future teachers.
After acquiring sufficient English proficiency through this course, participants will engage in student teaching practicum by conducting classes in English at local affiliated secondary schools.
There is a high demand for English teachers capable of conducting classes in English domestically, but opportunities for student teaching practicum in English are very limited in the country.
Therefore, this program operated by the university-affiliated training center in the Philippines offers a valuable opportunity for education students to enhance their English skills and gain real teaching experience simultaneously.
Program Features
Participants will conduct a 4-week teaching practicum at a Philippine secondary school, experiencing the local school system firsthand and improving their ability to teach in English.
One to two Korean university students are assigned per class, providing ample opportunities for individual guidance from local homeroom teachers.
After receiving preliminary English training at the partner university-affiliated education center, participants will proceed with actual teaching practicum at the affiliated secondary school.
Students reside in on-campus dormitories, allowing them to focus on learning in a safe and comfortable environment.
This program is directly managed by the International Exchange Department of the local university in the Philippines, ensuring a systematic and reliable experience.
The Bacolod area, where the practicum takes place, is known for its stable security and low number of Koreans, making it an ideal environment for English immersion.
A Korean coordinator is stationed on-site to promptly address any student concerns and ensure the smooth operation of the program.
